Ainne is a songwriter for our generation. "I'm all about letting your feelings go," she says. "No soul performer worth their salt isn't passionate about song-writing. I've been penning lyrics about emotional heartache long before I'd even suffered any myself."
Brought to the attention of Hit songwriter and McFly producer Julian Emery at the young age of 20 after her notable performances alongside Jools Holland and Trevor Burton formerly of The Move and Dexy's Midnight Runners, Ainnes career in songwriting began. It is with Julian that she wrote her first published song entitled 'Cant Let you know' which featured on the Danish X factor contestant 'Sine's Debut Album
Many of Ainnes own vocal recordings have been produced by Julian Emery who says: "Not only does she appear to have stolen the soul from a true blues singer, but Ainne is also a prolific child prodigy with over 100 of her own compositions."
Ainne has been writing hauntingly evocative songs since the age of eleven. One of four children, she could dance before she could walk and sing before she could talk. Her home in the West Midlands never lacked musical inspiration.
"Dad bought a piano when I was four but said no-one was allowed to touch it because it was just a piece furniture," recalls Ainne. "Secretly, he just wanted to see if I'd be interested and I was. Every time he went out, I'd sneak in and play it. I took to it instantly and was making up my own tunes within weeks."
At the age of 13, Ainne's Dad took her to see Del Amitri in concert and her passion for soul took hold instantly.
Always happy to face her fear, Ainne would frequently perform her own songs in front of family and friends. They later snapped her up to perform at parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs and even funerals. No stranger to the stage, Ainne became a regular for the City of Birmingham Young Voices , performing for The Queen at the city's Symphony Hall and at the NEC for The Elvis Reborn national tour.
Destined for a career in music, Ainne moved to London in 2005 where she is studied a music performance degree at London School of Music. Before long, she formed a soul covers band, Soul Policy, and toured the UK to a firm fan base who relied on the band to make their parties come alive.
Now she's pouring her life into her own lyrics with her own band, Ainne, and her energetic and captivating performances mean she's a regular fixture on the capital's key gigging circuit, including the Living Room on Regent Street.
When she's not belting out her blissed-out melodies, Ainne's sitting up all hours tinkering with tunes on her electric piano in her West London home.
"I'm a yo-yo, up-and-down kind of girl who needs to channel my energies into my own songs," she muses. Naturally, her repertoire as a funky soul singer contains its fair share of searing songs. From the first beat of the elegiac Silence Was Stronger to the rasping tones of the ballad Can't Let You Know, Ainne's breathes life and passion into every song. However Ainne is certainly not a one trick pony, her writing style stretches over many genres including, Pop,RnB,Dance and Dubstep.
Ainne's unique voice has naturally caught the attention of music producers worldwide. Not only has she recorded anthems for the English and Irish rugby team but Ainne's also recorded the theme music to the popular Heroes television drama. Ainne was also nominated for Uk Breakthrough Artist at the 2010 Performance awards by Kanye King (NOBO) and put in a category with Marina and the Diamonds and Tinie Temper who was crowned the winner!
Despite this, its writing that is now Ainne's main focus, having been luckily enough to co write with hit songwriters around the globe notably, Julian Emery, Pam Sheyne and Wayne Cohen including writing trips to NYC. Ainne is now working harder than ever to carve out her career within the songwriting industry!
